Seeking help is one of the best things you can do in a situation that involves a drug addiction. Talking to a trusted friend or an adult is a good thing to start out with if you are not comfortable with a therapist. If you do get a therapist, don't be scared that they are going to tell anyone anything. They keep everything you tell them a secret if you don't want them telling anyone anything. Below, Aura explains her experience with going to therapy.
A note on therapy with aura

Don't be afraid to start therapy- even if you're someone who doesn't take drugs and doesn't need emotional support, it's still useful. I just started going not too long ago for communication of inner thoughts issues. Trust me, I was thinking "this is pointless, I'm not going to be able to tell her anything, blah blah blah-" but as soon as I got there, I started spewing stuff and within the first 30 minutes I had already learned things about myself that I had never even thought of, and things have already started to get better. Obviously, with substance abuse it's not that easy, and may not require just therapy, but things will start to improve if you let them.
